Individual Therapy

At UCLL, we offer individual therapy designed for children, teens, and young adults who experience problems understanding and using language.

Through this one-on-one intervention, we aim to maximize our clients' abilities in speech and language so they live rewarding and successful lives.

An individual treatment plan is developed for each client based on the specific learning needs, and each plan targets measurable goals. Our intervention uses best practices in the remediation of language and literacy skills and may include computer programs designed specifically to address individual goals.

Individual therapy can also be a supplement to any of our group programs. Children, teens, and young adults who may benefit from individual therapy may exhibit one or more of the following diagnoses:

  • Expressive and receptive language disabilities
  • Phonological processing disorders
  • Social/pragmatic language challenges
  • Dyslexia
  • Specific learning disabilities
  • Auditory processing disorders (APD)
  • Apraxia
  • Oral motor difficulties

For more information about individual therapy, fees, and registration, please contact UCLL at (734) 764-8440 or ucll@umich.edu.
